The V grooving process is now available for fabrication shops of all sizes. Our Compact V machine is will boost productivity within hours of unpacking the crate. This 800 pound machine is solid and precise and will give you many years of carefree service. The Vgrooving cutters use industry standard carbide inserts, and no adjustments are required after changing inserts. V grooving is accomplished with a roughing head, and a finish head. Splitting the workload over two motors insures a fine finish, and long life for the 220V router motors. Making your own cove backsplash is a breeze with the built in cove station.
 

ADJUSTABLE FENCE

The five foot long fence can be precisely adjusted with the stainless steel guide assembly. Loosen the two fence locks, turn the crank until the precision scale reads the required position, lock the fence and your ready to V groove. These stainless steel parts require no lubrication, assuring trouble free performance.

 

POWER FEEDER

Here we see the power feed in the V groove position. You can just see the bed rollers under the feeder. On the front you see the coving station. The "L" folded pieces were coved by moving the feeder over the cove router, and the "toe" of the splash fed into the groove in the table. The cove cut is so smooth that almost no sanding is required.

 

COVING STATION

The cove bit cuts by referencing the finished surfaces of the splash. This results in a precise toe thickness, and a smooth chatter free cut. This bit also cleans up any glue squeeze out and the splash is ready for assembly to the top.

Making cove splash is a simple three step process:

  1. V groove it.
  2. Glue and fold it.
  3. Run it through the cove station.

Cut a rebate at the counter where the splash is required, and glue it in. Mask off the deck and most of the clean up can be done with our cove scraper.
